Scroggling the Holly at Main Street, Haworth
The official start of the Christmas Festive Season in Haworth, 'Scroggleve' on Saturday sees goblins and fairies spreading pixie dust with holly princes, ivy princesses and attendants handing out springs of holly bow-tied with ribbons. Begins 3pm.
On Sunday bands and Morris Men lead a procession of children up the cobbled Main Street to the crowning on the church steps. The newly crowned Holly Queen unlocks the church gates to invite the spirit of Christmas into Haworth. Santa & Mrs Claus then arrive bringing with them Glad Tidings and Christmas Cheer to all. Procession starts at 2pm on Sunday.
